Meet The McCrackins
Curtis & Laura
Curtis grew up in rural Oklahoma. He is the son of a school teacher and a stay at home mom and is the middle child of five. His childhood was full of life and love, and he was always surrounded by animals. “We grew a lot of the food we consumed, beef, hogs, chicken, rabbits and always a large garden”. Fishing and hunting was just part of life.
Curtis, a passionate Christian conservative, believes that the Western Colorado lifestyle deserves to be protected. He believes in the real authority the Constitution has in guiding the decisions that govern our nation.
Curtis, a passionate Christian conservative, believes that the Western Colorado lifestyle deserves to be protected. He believes in the real authority the Constitution has in guiding the decisions that govern our nation.
Over the last 30 + years Curtis has owned and operated a construction company, a real estate development company, and now a real estate brokerage. Curtis has experienced firsthand the effects the government has on small businesses. Additionally, Curtis helped his wife Dr. Laura McCrackin operate a medical practice and to navigate the challenges the Affordable Care Act had on providers and patients.
Curtis and Laura have two grown daughters and will celebrate 26 years of marriage this year. They moved to Cedaredge, Colorado over 20 years ago to raise their daughters on the western slope.
An avid outdoorsman, Curtis has a love for the incredible fly fishing available on the western slope. Hunting, hiking, cross-country skiing and golf take a close second. This passion for the outdoors fuels his understanding of the need for clean air and water.
Curtis commits himself to a life of faith. He served for 25+ years as a church elder and board member for several churches and believes in the biblical and constitutional principles that separate church and state.
Curtis plays several instruments and is a regular playing worship music at his church and is the lead guitarist and a vocalist in the rock cover band StoneFly.
